Re: Wet Motor Speed Sensor

For cars that are still good, would periodic replacement of the coolant gaskets plus checking the speed sensor prevent the drive motor failure?

Re: Motor whining, needs replacement

Hi All I am back in the market for a BEV! I went looking for a station wagon (E Class) but ended up with a C350e PHEV. Like @dyankay I was in love with the idea of saving gas and wished for more range. I sold the C350e and am back looking at B250e and other full BEVs (Fiat 500e, Focus Electric). Is ...

Re: Motor whining, needs replacement

I am in the Bay Area and am looking at a loaded black one in LA area - https://www.mbwestcovina.com/inventory/used-2017-mercedes-benz-b-class-b-250e-fwd-sedan-wddvp9ab5hj015790 I was hoping I could get it certified but it doesn't qualify and 3rd party warranty is $4k... ...

Re: B250 Owner's reliability experiences

Glad I found this thread! Looks like the 2017s are not immune to the motor whine problem I'm looking at this one https://www.mbwestcovina.com/inventory/used-2017-mercedes-benz-b-class-b-250e-fwd-sedan-wddvp9ab5hj015790 - out of warranty but has the right options/colors + higher mileage. Checking int...

Re: Motor whining, needs replacement

Resurrecting this as I am considering getting a 2017 B250e - out of warranty and not Certified.

Data points from this thread seem to point to 2014-2016 cars having issues w/ defective motor, are the 2017s safe from this perspective? Hate to buy a $16K car to have to plunk $10K for a new motor!

Re: Changing headlights

I think the base lights are halogens? I don't believe those drop-in LED bulbs produce the right beam pattern despite the "reviews". But I'm just jaded from being blinded by lifted pickup trucks w/ those "drop in LED lights" ;) For the HIDs, depending on the bulb type - there are those extra vision /...

Re: Our beloved B250e

This thing works for me as my first EV experience. No regular commute, not too many road trips and we have other cars for road trips or take the B250e, charge up here and there and take the dog for walk or get some lunch / dinner while it charges up.

Re: EQB introduced!

Yeah looks good! Drove a loaner gasser GLB 250 FWD and it's a solid small SUV/wagon. The interior and Burmester stereo were just WOW
