Re: 15 amps or 20 amps

I was curious about this too. On the Clipper Creek website they have a chart of the charge times for various cars, based on which charger you use. My interpretation of the chart is below: Max charge rate: 9.6 kw Battery capacity: 28 kwh Time to charge: 120V 15amp: 20 hours 240V 20 amp: 7.5 hours 24...

Re: 15 amps or 20 amps

Do not forget the Lear (Mercedes) charger defaults to 8A. For 12A would have to select it each time . 8A on a B would take forever. Beware of Chinese EVSE's on eBay. Many claim to be J1772 compliant even though they are not. There is very little to no regulation in China. It is the technical Wild We...

Re: What is the range at 100% charge?

Everyone is talking about the guess o meter display. It is only an indicator based on previous behavior, Obviously if you only drive freeways at 75MPH the display will be lower . If you only drive city streets at 40MPH then the display will read higher, Remember it is only an estimate.

Re: Next EV?

I really do not think it will ever happen but I want a base Tesla 3 with only the color option for 37K. That is 35K plus 2K for the color.

Re: What is the range at 100% charge?

The meter says 100% of 80%. 90% does not show on the meter but it increases the GOM.

Really the meter just states the percentage of the standard 80% charge. Personally for running around town I charge at 75% of the 80%. That works for my limited mileage.

Re: Inoperable HV Charger message

My 84 developed a cooling pump problem. It would charge OK at L1 but it over heated at L2. Mercedes of Anaheim fixed the problem in 2 days.

Re: Interesting testing results found about charging, range,

I do not understand some charts. The car is always stopped when charging. Why three columns . Some information is useful but charging, I do not know.

Re: 15 amps or 20 amps

At work I charged for free. In my case a 208VAC EVSE worked for me. Now as a retired person I charge at 240VAC at 40A. As much as I drive I could get away with 120VAC trickle charging, I charge at 75% of the 80% default. The EVSE was upgraded to 40A but just because,my 30A EVSE was fine. The Quick C...

Re: Radar Assisted Braking

the NOSE radar is completely separate from the side blind spot sensors. The real question is that it might show an error when unplugged I replaced the cone on my 2014 but the module remained plugged in. I really do not know. And it is too much work to test.
