Re: Can I upgrade the iPod cable to an iPhone connector?

Hallcp, When you take you car into the shop, ask the parts department. I have an Android and easier to use BT vs AUX, plus the data flows through and the car audio controls work. Not sure what you can play through via this or upgraded connector. Do you have an older iPhone or iPad to test. In my 200...

Re: Navigation and Bluetooth both died at once

Hallcp, Since your warranty is about to run out, I would have your friendly service agent do a complete review of your car to see everything that is not perfect in the vehicle. It is your last chance. I might also suggest that you occasionally hear an high pitch whining noise so could they please ru...

Re: Can I purchase an extended warranty... and should I?

Very nice info and post, thank you. I am not freaked out by the gotchas. As you pointed out, what maintenance on motor are we talking about anyway. The thing that is known is the wearing out over time of the bearings, which can be argued as not normal wear and tear (think tires). If the annual batte...

Re: MB/Tesla Motor replaced

HallCP, No local mechanic on the east that I know of can do this. Your choice is the dealer who usually has one trained tech on our B250e or shipment to California to someone like Tony and back for roughly $1250-1500. From what I read, 40K is the magic mileage for worn bearings on early Tesla motors...

Re: Can I purchase an extended warranty... and should I?

I don't think you can buy an extended warranty from MB but it seems to me that I was offered something from a third-party. Ask them in any case. The battery should be on 8 year, 100K warranty and the thing that seems to have cropped up is the electric motor at the 40K+ mark or five year mark. This i...

Re: What is typical battery degradation?

Uh, other than a horse head in the bed, any chance you can clue us in? I offered to buy out my 2014 lease for the $15K they would have sold it for at auction, but my dealer declined.

Re: Potential Drive Unit Failure - Best Plan of Attack

NJQuiltGirl,

I assume you read the post entitled, "MB/Tesla Motor replaced", although they caught it before 4 year mark. Again, I would argue that this started when the coolant leak was first reported (hope that was before 4 year mark).

Re: Potential Drive Unit Failure - Best Plan of Attack

It depends when the warranty expired and the laundry list of issues occurred. One should argue with MB central that all these issues are known and related, especially the coolant leak into the motors, and hence this all started before the warranty expired. Also, claim the whining started before the ...
