Re: Motor whining, needs replacement

If your b250e was repaired under warranty or at your expense, please consider reporting the original issue to NHTSA. MERCEDES WILL BE FORCED TO REIMBURSE THOSE WHO HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR in the event of a recall. This has happened too often for NHTSA to ignore, but they will only act if everyone...

Re: Next EV?

Hey Jeff,

I'm bringing back my VW TDI sportwagen from our place in AZ (when the border opens again, that is). Nothing like owing & driving the yin and yang of vehicles. I love both cars for different reasons.

Re: Next EV?

Mimark, Good job on negotiating a good deal. Dealers (from experience) don't want slow moving units piling up on their lots, especially used EV's that just keep hemorrhaging resale, and that salespeople have no incentive or motivation to sell. Your dealer decided their first loss was likely their be...

Re: Next EV?

For me, this RAV4 checks off all the boxes:

https://pressroom.toyota.com/toyota-rev ... av4-prime/

- Can do 40-ish mile trips pure EV
- No need to "take the other car" when winter kills my EV's range.
- Roomy / well appointed / reasonably luxurious
- Fast

Re: Daimler Layoffs?

I also think that we are already starting to witness a trend where next generation of millennials aren't seeing the value in shoving $30-50K (even if they had it) or a big monthly payment into a vehicle. Notice how so many cuteUV's are coming out - trying so hard to attract a younger audience?

Re: Daimler Layoffs?

I think it's Daimler coming to the realization that people (generally) aren't buying cars anymore in favor of minivans disguised as small SUV's. I expect more manufacturers to reduce or eliminate cars from their lineups like Ford has done.

Re: 2017, 18k miles, $21K - should I buy?

I think MB started including Range Plus on 2015 and later model years. My 2014 doesn't have it / no button on the dash. If you're also shooting for 100K, you won't want to use it.

Re: 2017, 18k miles, $21K - should I buy?

Hey Peter, My car doesn't have the range-extender option - not that I'd ever use it anyway. A goal of mine is to see if I can get the car to 100K miles, and still have at least 70-80 miles of range in summer. By then, I could see the car only capable of around 30 miles in extreme cold. At that point...

Re: erorr code p1c0300 -malfunction visit workshop

Just a guess, but could this be an issue with the 12V battery? A lot of people don't realize how integral the 12V battery is to the overall operation of the vehicle. It doesn't only power the radio and windshield wipers - critical functions also rely on it. My car is a 2014 model. This winter, I sta...

Re: 2017, 18k miles, $21K - should I buy?

I'll also mention as of today, my B has 47,358 miles on it. I have noticed some battery degradation but that is to be expected - especially in winter. At -20C, (and with the heater ON), the car at best has about a 40 mile range. In summer, my B is still at around 90-95 miles. Regardless of the seaso...
