Would you recommend a used 250e for a first time EV'er? Pros/Cons of other EV's?

yes we're finishing up with finishing the garage with insulation and plywood wall so got to install the fresh wires. to keep the baby climate controlled during the winter. use the thick wires as per your fire standards code whatever. winter is coming. what shall the range say? will the ceiling...

    Buying used 2017 MB250e?

the desiccant pack they replace is $9 online autoparts store. they will top your wiper fluids. i think you need 2 packs. i would feel ripped off even if it was $100. now what is the status of the battery warranty? mercedes has been cagy about transferring these. their inspection is required to...

Would you recommend a used 250e for a first time EV'er? Pros/Cons of other EV's?

just buy the 50 amp breaker put in ur box... then pipe the wires into one of those kits or boxes you buy from online, we use OpenEvse kit 40amp. BAM! 9.6kw charging hole right in your garage. needs 240v house connection. otherwise as they say 208v is 7.6kw max. 208v is the commercial 3-phase...

status update MY-2015 purchased 3 months ago

it's good they caught it during these last month of warranty. what is concerning is that it isn't clear if the remanufactured units fixed the issue that causes them to leak the fluid after awhile. seems like a degenerative condition of the motor like the milling. or it's just a straight up...

Would you recommend a used 250e for a first time EV'er? Pros/Cons of other EV's?

in case nobody checks other threads than here, the car can take 10kw charging from the wall. as in 40 if not even 42-43 amps. it will then charge in 3 hours, tho i don't think it's ever been empty. i say this because the only mention of home charging said 7.7 kw and it can do 10.

they just got it back today. it appears almost everything that produced torque as its function in one way or another got replaced. they didn't comment on the status of the battery. relevant bits from the report. it is under warranty praise. they should extend the warranty for the month long...

model year not "emphatic my" ok so my parents are using the 2015 MB ED with the range button as a second car in rural area. it is very successful for my dad's commute as he can charge at work for free and skips charging at home. because 3 trips of 30ish miles fit comfortably enough in regular...

Are EVs compatible with Urban Living?

ya know they say not to extension cord these... but ... here's a simple dishwasher plug charger that can pump out 32 amps! just hang it out your window or whatever it takes with some extension cords. maybe there's a plug like this by a utility door or something...

    Broken Public Chargers

pretty sure cow flatulence wouldn't be a problem if farmers actually cared for their lands like we think they should. we learned in school all cows eat grass and grow into adults finding out that practically none do. if pastureland is maintained properly, it acts as a carbon sink! the cow poop...

    taken the plunge

hello sorry for the delayed reply. especially after implying this severe problem. to summarize everything, buying a car mail order sight un-seen is a bit disconcerting when it isn't perfect. and it was so easy to make it perfect. we took it to dealer to inspect but only after i had them delay...

    taken the plunge

i've thoroughly scared them by showing the threads on motor replacements here. my dad'll take it to dealer in the morning. he described the noise as a whirring sound you can hear above 20 mph and that it's very noticeable at 60 mph. i'll update how it goes in a new thread. are you expecting...

    How many Amps?

i am also curious if this car supports over 40 amps. is it true that they shipped different chargers for European version vs US version? has anyone here used the tesla tap? it should allow higher than 40 amps out of a tesla connection! has anyone seen an 11.1 kw rate in the wild on a...

    taken the plunge

hello i've been investigating this car on the forum for some time now, i'd like to thank you all for sharing your experiences. my parents who live in rural eastern ct have taken the plunge and kept the car beyond its guarantee return period. their example is a 2015 blue south seas with...

    incidence of the motor replacements

thanks for replying. i see you have a 2017 b class, do you truly intend to trade it in or rebuild engine once warranty expires? are these not 100-400k machines (like other tesla)? my hope is we're seeing a few bad examples from the factory not a systemic limit on the cars.
