When we can choose 200+ mile electric vehicles

Our lease on the 2015 B will be up in Oct. I really like the Jag and it should be "available" by then. It is a lot more money than the B was though, so hard to say. I am also very interested in the EQC (familiarity and all), we should officially hear about it right before our lease is up...

Any luck lowering the end of lease purchase price?

Talking to MBFS they said that they absolutely do not negotiate the residual, but as with everything YMMV. I am hoping I can extend my lease long enough to see about this EQC (lease ends in Oct). I don't know if that will be possible or not.

    B-Class range update

I am not convinced that the M/KwH calculations are actually off by 15-20% like everyone says. I drove back to back 70 mile trips over the weekend and in both cases the M/KwH calculation was only off by 8%. That said the numbers were pretty great. 3.0 actual at 2.8 indicated and 3.76 actual...

I just got stuck paying $424 for my 1st annual service ???

It is my understanding that by US law the cannot charge the customer for service that is required to keep their warranty AND is required for only them to do. They have to do this free of charge, hence why they do it. The legally should not be allowed to change this for 2016 unless they also...

My big list of B Class Suggestions

As mentioned you can make the rear cargo floor flat. Don't know about the command system, but the standard system has at least 20 presets. A lot of those suggestions would be nice, but probably wont happen at the same price point.

Completely no power response after not using for three weeks

I believe the main reason they don't use the LION battery as a backup is because the electronics that control voltage change are actually powered by the 12v battery. Also, if you just directly let the 12v come through somehow, they don't want a situation where there is excessive drain...

    Charge socket flap won't open

Yes, I also have the problem where the flap doesn't stay closed. It will close, but by the time I get into the car, its open again. I get that the B-Class is a "cheap" Mercedes, but come on, seriously, some of this stuff is very amateur level stuff.

    Charge socket flap won't open

Mine has been acting up off and on for the past month or so. Today it will not open at all. I may have enough juice to drive it to the dealership, but I suppose I can just have mbrace tow it if I do not. I have to say, its the most ridiculous latching mechanism I have ever seen for one of...

Winter is around the corner; performance differences

Stretch, the GOM does account for extended range. In fact this is the only way you can tell after the car has charged, whether or not it is range charged (which is super annoying in itself). The range continues to go up after you it 100% SOC if you are still charging on a range charge. I have...

    Inconsistent ReGen/Battery behavior

Thanks for the info Stretch. So I know there isn't anything abnormal with my B anyway. I guess I find it odd that a German manufacture would design it this way (I suppose I don't understand why the battery percent doesn't read 112 on a full range charge either)....So as the gauge indicates...

    Inconsistent ReGen/Battery behavior

For others who don't know, the E-Cell gauge tells you how much instantaneous power you have on tap. Its good to know this for situations where you might need the power. Say the motor can use 138 KW at full tilt, if the E-Cell gauge is at "full" you can use the full 138KW when you floor the...

    Inconsistent ReGen/Battery behavior

Hi, its been getting a little cold here in Washington lately and I have noticed some strange regen behaviors. I understand that when the battery is cold and I don't have max E-Cell I might not be able to regen because it can hurt the battery. The odd thing is the power gauge says I are still...

    Snow Tires/Wheels

I have driven exclusively BMW for many years. I use that site extensively as well. I also know of a few really good places to get OEM BMW parts online. So far I have not found a place to get the sort of detailed parts information that REALOEM provides, for a Mercedes. There does appear to be...

    Snow Tires/Wheels

This car seems to share an awful lot of parts with the CLA. I would think a lot of the monitoring systems are similar too. I'd be shocked if the TPMS sensors were different. That said, I have not seen part numbers and don't have any specific knowledge to back that up.

Check if RECALL applies to your MBe

If your car has the range package, the dealer could have range charged the car. Otherwise it could be the fact that the car was inside being worked on, keeping the battery warm, etc. Its hard to say till the conditions you drive in are exactly the same as normal.
