    Motor whining, needs replacement

I think the motor is a Tesla Model S motor (the same as the Rav4EV). If that's the case the early motors have a "milling" sound (search for "model s milling"). If that's what you had it's not a safety issue. There have been no reported cases of one of these motors stopping completely, it's...

    B-Class range update

Remember that the GOM is just an estimate based on past driving. In my experience (in a Rav4EV, same Tesla components as B-Class) it is very pessimistic and I have never had trouble exceeding the range of the GOM. But if you did have some unusual circumstance (stuck in traffic with ac or...

    Leasing

That's pretty amazing! If I didn't already have my rav4ev I'd check it out (I'm about 80 miles west of the dealer). I think it would be pretty hard to justify having 3 vehicles and we would still need the one that runs on dinosaur juice for out of town trips. :(

Warm Weather Range and Regen Behavior

Light braking is really regen. The brakes only engage in heavy breaking. One reason I prefer this is that it turns on my brake lights.

Is there a onboard Timer on B Class? and the best EV charger

I have an older Clipper Creek 20A. I specifically picked that because it was the only one at the time that could fit between two of my garage doors (which is where my car's charging port is). You can charge up to 40A so I would pick one of the three that can charge at 40A. I have not seen the...

    Drive efficiency question for owners

Efficiency is very dependent on battery temp. And as the battery warms up so does the cabin. So the battery can move more electrons and the battery and cabin heater can start cycling on and off.

    Cold Weather Battery Issues

I have not tried it personally but I think plugging it in at 120 during the day would work great. The battery will be heated when you leave. Better of course would be level 2 charging and then running a preclimate but it's a lot easier to find 120 at work than level 2. Mike

    Cold Weather Battery Issues

I can share some insights from my RAV4EV last winter and this winter. I'm near Rochester, NY so the climate is somewhat similar. You will lose range in the winter...no way around it. Once you start using the heater the GOM is totally useless. Your total range will drop 30+% but your bunch of...

    Poor range performance

The GOM is almost useless in the cold. I have the Rav4 but the batteries, drivetrain and GOM are all from Tesla on both models. I had a trip a few months ago year where I started with a range of 72 miles. I drove 36 miles at 30 degrees mostly at 65 mph and the heater on the whole way. Then...

    Real world range test

I guess it's possible that the GOM is more accurate on the B-Class. I've seen some posts here where it seems like people are getting less than the GOM for range. I was hoping to see people getting over 100 for real world range with careful driving (I was planning to buy one next year). What...

    Real world range test

I definitely encourage you to do some range testing to see what your real world range is. I find the GOM useless. On Saturday I got in and it told me I have 72 miles. I just happened to have to go somewhere that was 36 miles away. It was 32 degrees outside and I drove with the heat on the...

    Real world range test

The GOM on the RAV4EV is extremely conservative. I have about 23k miles on my RAV4EV. I can't recall a single time when my range was less than the GOM. In fact, I typically exceed the GOM by at least 20%. Since the Tesla parts on the MB EV and the RAV4EV are pretty much the same I would...
