    Tesla Model 3

I'm considering a Chevy Bolt before the Tesla3, not sure why other than the convenience of having a dealer for maintenance.

Does 2015 bclass have a charge timer or not?

The lack of a timer is an inconvenience, but the missing charge indicator is a serious flaw. My EVSE has an indicator and it's own delay timer, but both should have been part of the car. This will definitely be part of the decision criteria on the next car.

Radio software upgrade wipes out the whole system

This sounds like an improperly performed reflash of the firmware. Typically one only overwrites program code, not data. My guess is they got frustrated and overwrote everything including the BootLoader which is not good. I am now very wary of how well these guys are trained or the tools that...

    Real world range test

I lose just a couple of miles of range even on the coldest days. Probably because I only use the seat heaters unless the windows fog up and when that happens I use the defrost as little as possible. However Oregon rarely gets below 30.

The i3: My One Day Test Drive

Your kids have clearly practiced. A while back I my wife and I watched 4 (drunk) guys try to get out of the i3 in a tight spot between two cars before a soccer game. It took them nearly 10 min. It was like the 3-Stooges with profane language...screaming, yelling, swearing, banging, "No you...

Thump! Complete Loss of Power on Freeway. Went into Neutral

The scary thing is that there was no apparent fault detected in the vehicle, which means nothing would be logged since the car doesn't believe there was any failure. With all of these reports of failures by owners it seems that it would be really nice to have the ability to record the state of...

Mercedes B-Class ED Set To Get Range Bump...

Before anyone gets too excited, that 310mi is by the European standard, quoting the last paragraph in the article: The current B-Class Electric Drive (with extended range added in) is touted at 230 km (143 miles) by the company in Europe; so in this case – a 500 km/310 mile projection for the...

    My list of suggestions

haha..and whenever I get into the B-Class from my Audi I hit the gear shifter when it starts raining!

    My list of suggestions

I don't think the brake lights are necessary when regen is turned on, but I see why others do. 1. My biggest complaint is the positioning of gear shift. If one switches between other cars (which have the windshield wiper where the B-Class shifter is located), it is easy to reflexively mess...

    RANGE NOT AS ADVERTISED

Not sure what to say. I have driven >100mi several times, including once with AC and 2 passengers and luggage. I do use the range extender in most of those situations b/c I didn't know how far I was going to drive, but I have driven 95mi, mostly on the Hwy ~65mph, without using the range...

Thump! Complete Loss of Power on Freeway. Went into Neutral

So this sounds like only a firmware upgrade is needed (to increase the tolerance), not a replacement of the drive train. I suppose they could replace the offending drive train parts with something that only operates within the variance threshold of the SW (higher quality parts?), but this just...

    10 days with b-class

Some answers/comments to OP questions: Headrests in rear can be pushed down to seat level and even removed. Check other thread on this subject http://www.mybclasselectricdrive.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=211&p=2618&hilit=headrest#p2618. IMHO Still much better than LEAF Tap gear shift lever...

No brake lights in D- or D-Auto

Good Point. Times have changed and unfortunately skills have too. However brake lights are only one indicator that a vehicle is changing speed, there are a whole lot more, and for some reason people no longer seem to use them. My statement on cellphones was not about snarkiness, but on paying...

No brake lights in D- or D-Auto

It really alarms me when people observe that this is now a problem. It shouldn't be. Vehicles have had this functionality since cars were invented. When you drive a vehicle with standard transmission and down shift, there are no brake lights and the car decelerates at a rate similar to max...

    Real world range test

Just noticed typo in my range summary, which I have corrected above. It is ~125mi, not 135mi

    Real world range test

Just did my own real world range test. Trip to Oregon wine country from our house. - Used range extender button to charge past normal. This added 8mi on the GOM (Guess-O-Meter) and left house with 81mi on the GOM. - Drove with 2 passengers to three different wineries, varying speeds mostly...

    rubber floor mats

I ordered these same mats directly from my dealer in late February. The rear mats were a little weird as they needed to be cut into separate sections, but the foot portions in front of the passengers fit fine. I also got the rubber rear cargo tray mat, its installation was also a little...

    OK. I'll try that. Thx.

    Pre-heating while plugged in...

I was trying to warm-up the car before I left the house yesterday and didn't want to bother with the whole "departure time setup" rigamarole. The car was plugged in, I turned it on, and then set the climate controls. The fans went on and I heard the on-board charger, but the climate control...
