I posted this in the "technical discussion" forum when I was trying to find a way to activate Siri using the built in buttons (i.e. when listening to music on my iPhone over bluetooth and I want to change the playlist, search a song, or ask directions). I couldn't find a native way to do it, but I did find a cheap accessory that gave me exactly what I wanted:
It pairs with your phone over bluetooth and mimics a press of the home button.
It's only $25 on Amazon and pretty easy to mount somewhere inconspicuously. It came with a clip to mount on the steering wheel, but I didn't want to feel it when the wheel slid through my grip as I turn, so I mounted mine over the cigarette lighter out of sight but easily accessible if I flip open the lid.
