how big is the battery pack actually?

There seems to be conflicting reports - I thought the B-Class battery pack was 28 kWh?
But now I saw something (and of course I can't find the site right now) that listed the battery pack at 36 kWh?

Is that a different battery pack for the $600 'temporary range extender' option or what?

The actual pack size is 36Kwh in all versions. The range option simply lets you use more of the total capacity of the battery when charging. This is at the expense, possibly, of slightly more battery capacity degradation if you used it on a regular basis... The range option is essentially just a push button and a software change. (The added insulation and heated windshield, which is part of the rnage package, may by of some additional advantage to those in exceptionally severe climates...)
