Just test drove a B-Class today. Looks and drives great. We did a charge at the dealership and it looks like it starts drawing juice as soon as you plug in the J1772. Unfortunately the salesman couldn't answer if I would be able to setup the car to charge on a timer as I can with my LEAF.

The LEAF has a great feature where I can set it up to complete its charge by a certain time, allowing me to charge during off peak electrical hours. Can any of the new B-Class owners answer if the B-Class has a similar feature?

I seem to remember there being a charge app that could handle that sort of thing, but now of course I can't find reference to it anywhere!

(p.s. Any thoughts/comments to share on your test drive? )

They use the 'Departure Time' method of delayed charge timer. Similar to the Toyota Rav EV method that Tesla provided in their engine / charging product for the vehicle. Look for the E-Cell settings in the manual.

The Owners manual is at:

Look under Year 2015 for the B-Class vehicle
Direct link may work for a while: http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalAssets/pdfmb/ownersmanual/2015_B_Class_New.pdf

also you can try out a demo of the mbrace connected app here:

Same price as Amazon, although the price seems to go up and down quite a bit.
