When we can choose 200+ mile electric vehicles

Just picked up a used Tesla Model S P85D for a little over $40k. I still have the lease on the B-class for a few more months but I couldn’t pass up this deal. The B-class is still a lovely car but the Tesla definitely wins. The killer app is the range and supercharging network. I drove the car...

    Newbie to the B250e

When I first got my B-class over 4 years ago, I also considered the BMW i3. It definitely seemed more efficient and high-tech. No doubt it is more efficient and lightweight, and gets a similar range compared to B-class despite having a smaller battery capacity. But the deciding factor for me was...

    Next EV?

My B-class lease ends in 8 months. I can’t go back to a gas burner, just can’t, so I’m going to have to find an EV replacement (the RX hybrid is my wife’s). I would be interested in either the Kia Niro EV or Hyundai Kona EV. Surprise, surprise - neither will be offered in North Carolina (I...

Brake light activation during 1 pedal driving?

I will say that compared to other EVs which do illuminate the taillights when using aggressive regenerative braking (e.g. Tesla, BMW i3), the regen on the B-class, even in D-, is no where near aggressive enough to be considered one pedal driving. So I’m actually kind of glad the brakes don’t...

    Level 1 EVSE fault

I almost don’t care if the warranty covers it. I can get by without it and dealing with Mercedes has been such a hassle where I live that it’s not worth trying to get a new charger. Just gotta tough it out until I get another EV in October. My bigger problem is what EV to get to replace the...

    Level 1 EVSE fault

Thanks for the advice. My car still charges fine with multiple other Level 2 EVSEs so I think it is just the Level 1 unit that came with the car is busted (didn’t realize it was called Lear - I couldn’t find any branding anywhere on it). I think that I will probably just make do with public...

Brake light activation during 1 pedal driving?

Can confirm that the brake lights are NOT lit by regeneration in D- at any speed. Source: my wife, driving behind me on city roads and highway roads, when I asked her to check specifically for this. I drive in D- at all times, and I do wish it was a bit more aggressive for true one-pedal driving.

    Level 1 EVSE fault

The level 1 charger that came with the car is throwing a funny error message after I plug it in, and won’t charge anymore. The top light is blinking red, and the bottom row of four lights blinks a repeating pattern of 3, 2, 1 lights. At first I thought it was the 110v outlet at the parking...

    New to me

I’ve been very happy with the car. No battery issues, though the range is pretty comparable to a first-generation LEAF. Not long range, and without quick charge capability, it’s really limited to being a commuter car. But it’s a very comfortable, solid, and peppy commuter car. My kids love the...

    website outage

Sigh, I miss EVAccess for iOS. It’s been gone from Apple for a while. The Mercedes web app is so terrible. MyB isn’t much better.

MyB available at the App Store

Former EVAccess user here, but it’s broken permanently. Switched to MyB. Does anyone know how to display the time that the charge will be completed? All I really get out of this app is a current charge percentage and whether it’s charging currently.

    Sunglass holder

My 2014 (totaled) had a sunglasses holder, and my 2016 does as well. I have prescription sunglasses and I use the holder all the time. It's a shame if it's been taken out of the 2017. I wonder if it's part of a trim package.

    Tesla 3 for sale

I think that 125 mile range you read somewhere was a mistake. I've only ever read about a range over 200 miles in anything referencing the Tesla Model 3. I put in a deposit about 3 days after they began taking deposits, and I was already more than 300,000 behind. I'm expecting maybe to get a...

My Mercedes Electric website outage (10 hours and going)

Haven't been able to access the web app since yesterday around noon. It must be a server issue because the EVAccess app doesn't work as well.

    Wiper blade replacement

Okay guys, I feel like a complete moron, but I can't replace the windshield wiper blades on my 2016 B250e. I had a 2014 B-class ED (totaled, RIP) that I don't remember there being anything funny about the wipers. Now on my 2016, the blades have degraded and gotten all streaky, so I bought my...

My b class app not working anymore

The My B-Class web app is working for me again, but EVAccess iOS app still hasn't started working again. Logged out and in, deleted and reinstalled app - nothing. It's so much better than the Mercedes app... Bummer...

Can the B class be used to jump start another car?

I have successfully used my B-class to jump start a regular ICE car without any problems.

    "Engine" fan noise/operation

I've noticed this as well. It's definitely the AC compressor, which seems to crank pretty loudly for the first couple of minutes. If you turn off the climate control, the noise/vibration goes away instantly.

    Cabin AC active when parked

I concur. Press the climate preconditioning button on the dash and walk away. Stays on even after you lock the car while walking away. The caveat is that it cuts off after an hour or so, in case you were planning on running your AC that long. Really, the MBE web app for our phone should let us...

    In-Mirror Compass

Hm, I have the premium package and the mirror compass has just always been on for me. Never had to fiddle with any buttons. Maybe you should contact your dealer...
